Next semester our school will have a fundraising stall at the Cockburn Rotary Spring Fair. We are requesting donations of small – medium clean glass jars to use for our Lucky Jar items. If you have any jars that you are able to donate, please bring them to the office. Thank you.
To celebrate the final NAPLAN test and encourage students to bring Crunch’n’Sip to school we had a wonderful Crunch’n’Dip morning tea on Thursday. The rainbow colours of the vegies were amazing and made it all so much fun to share with our friends at recess time. The popularity of these morning teas is a good indication that our students are keen to eat healthy as they devoured the crunchy treats. Please remember that students are having to wait a bit longer for their morning tea with the new timetable trial so a small container of easy to eat, chopped fruit or veg will help them re-fuel to assist their physical and mental performance as well as concentration in the classroom.
Thanks to Kim and Shane Clarke for their help chopping up the vegetables in time for recess.
Parents and carers are reminded that Spearwood Primary School uses Consent2Go for excursions and incursion permission. The system has replaced our paper process for obtaining parent permission and consent.
The picture below shows the content of the email you will receive. By simply clicking on the blue box you will be automatically connected to the system.
There is no username or password required to use the system. All information is stored in accordance with the Australian privacy requirements.
You will be asked to update your contact details and your child’s medical and allergy information. This only needs completing once; parents can then easily update and change details if required through the system.
The school will also use the system to collect payments from parents for excursions. Parents may also attend the school and pay in person if they prefer.
Consent2Go is being introduced to improve the process for parents by providing the school with the most up to date information regarding their child’s medical or other related information. This greatly improves the school’s ability to manage school excursions and events.
Please contact us if you require more information.
To celebrate water week in Room 8 the students watched a video on wetlands, they discussed the plants and animals affected by pollution and that nature holds the answer.
Each student designed and made a flag which we then strung together to make a bunting which is displayed in our wet area.
A huge thank you to all families who contributed last year towards our total points for the Woolworths Earn and Learn promotion. Our purchases have arrived. With these points we purchased a large game for students to play in the undercover area and a handful of rainbow coloured basketballs.
This year we have introduced Aussie of the Month at Spearwood PS which recognises personal endeavour, achievement and contribution to the community and reflects some of the values we share as Australians, such as fair go, mateship, respect and inclusion.
Teachers nominate students for each assembly and then one student is selected to receive this special award to celebrate their commitment to the Australian values we embrace at our school. The first student to receive this award at our school was Lavina, Room 14.
To find out more about this award please visit the Aussie of the Month website.
