On Friday July 3, Spearwood Primary School celebrated with NAIDOC activities.
While Australia postponed until November their NAIDOC Week we went ahead with our school NAIDOC week activities. Thank you to the School Cultural Committee and the P & C Committee for all the hard work and great ideas that made such a great day.
First the P & C put on an amazing morning tea with items that all have some bush tucker ingredients. The students learnt about these ingredients in class.
Then the Year 5/6 class sung an Aboriginal version of ‘Twinkle Twinkle’. It was impressive and moving. Well done Mrs Dowding and the Year 5/6 students.
Then the whole school broke into Factions groups and Pre-Primary to Year Six. Students finally got to mingle after so many weeks of just being in class groups. There were three stations of activities. Thanks to the staff who worked with students and to the big children helping little children. It was a lovely way to end the term and you will see many of the art pieces displayed around the school.
