Thank you to the families who have paid the voluntary contributions. This money goes towards much needed resources for our students.
After having a wet start to the week, we finally had lovely sunny weather for the lap-a-thon. The primary aim was to raise awareness about National Water Week, reflect on how we use water in our lives and how we can make difference to ensure water is used wisely.
We have had a great start to National Water Week commencing on Monday 16th October with Wear Blue Day, rock painting and in class activities. The $91.50 raised from this event will be donated to a water charity in order to assist an African village access water. It was lovely to see so many happy faces in the playground when the sun did shine on such a wild and wet day.
On Tuesday 25th July, students from Pre-Primary to Year Six participated in a range of interesting and engaging Water Wise incursions, presented by Tanya Burnett and Megan Brown from the Water Corp.
Rooms 5 and 6 had a lot of fun learning about waste water, what goes down drains, and the correct ways to dispose of items in order to maintain our wastewater system. Continue reading

Spearwood Primary School’s amazing soccer team are shown at the 2017 Lightning Carnival. They are the 2017 C.D.S.S.A. Winter Sports Carnival-Division B Soccer– CHAMPIONS. Well Done!

On Tuesday Food Sensations came to the year 3 and 4 classes. They brought some Superhero Foods with them and students spent the morning cooking up some delicious healthy foods.
They will be bringing home a cookbook with the recipes so make sure you try the amazing Pasta and Atomic Apple Crumble! Continue reading
